GLASS lizard cages tend to last longer and are easier to clean, whereas Wood Melamine will deteriorate over time, and being timber, you need to be careful how much water you use while cleaning.

While GLASS lizard cages must be used for semi-aquatic species, we recommend that you purchase Wooden Melamine lizard cages. You use a small bead of silicone around all the timber joins to stop water from falling into the gaps and swelling the wood.

WOODEN lizard cages are much better at holding temperature as heat escapes through glass quicker than wood. Regarding price, cages made from either glass or melamine are about the same.

One thing you need to be aware of is ALL reptile cages need to have adequate ventilation. Adequate ventilation means that there will be no condensation build-up on the inside of the glass cages. Ventilation is essential as humid environments for most desert-dwelling snakes and lizards will cause respiratory infections.
