GLASS lizard enclosures tend to last longer and are easier to clean. In contrast, Wood Melamine will deteriorate over time and being timber. You need to be careful how much water you use while cleaning. The GLASS lizard enclosures must be used for semi-aquatic species. If you purchase Wooden Melamine lizard enclosures, we recommend that you use a small bead of silicone around all the timber joins to stop water from getting into the gaps and swelling the wood.

WOODEN lizard enclosures are much better at holding temperature as heat escapes through glass quicker than wood. Regarding price, enclosures made from either glass or melamine are about the same.

One thing you need to be aware of is ALL reptile enclosures need to have adequate ventilation. Adequate ventilation means that there will be no condensation build-up on the inside of the glass enclosure. Ventilation is essential as humid environments for most desert-dwelling snakes and lizards will cause respiratory infections.
