Generally there are 2 different types of bearded dragon enclosure, the first being made from Melamine Timber and the second being Glass. We will explain the pros and cons further down the page.

Glass Bearded Dragon Enclosures
The GLASS enclosures must be used for semi-aquatic species. We recommend if you purchase a Wooden Melamine enclosure that you use a small bead of silicone around all the timber joins to stop water getting into the gaps and swelling the timber.
WOODEN enclosures are much better at holding temperature as heat escapes through glass quicker than wood. In regard to price, tanks made from either glass or melamine are about the same.
Adequate Ventilation
One important thing to keep in mind is that ALL reptile enclosures must have adequate ventilation. In other words, proper ventilation prevents condensation from building up inside glass enclosures. This is crucial because high humidity levels can lead to respiratory infections in most desert-dwelling snakes and lizards.
Fortunately, both our Melamine Wooden Reptile Tanks and our Glass Reptile Cages for sale at our store are designed with the recommended level of ventilation, ensuring sufficient airflow. Regardless of the type of enclosure you choose, you’ll also need to add the correct lighting and heating based on the specific needs of the animal you are keeping.
