The following are interesting facts about our adorable little turtles:
Â
Turtles are omnivores, meaning they need both vegetables and meat. A stable diet consists of balanced pellets, crickets, worms and vegetables. Feed these babies daily, and adult turtles 2 to 3 times a day. In our store we sell high quality turtle pellets and frozen turtle food and turtle vegetables. We have everything your turtle will need.
Â
For your turtle you will need a tank at least 2 feet long. You will need a UV light unit to stimulate vitamin D3 into the turtles systems. This allows them to absorb calcium because without this they will develop a soft shell. Use a heater to keep water temperature to around 24 degrees. A filter is important because turtles produce a fair amount of waste.
Â
A dock is an area out of water for your turtle to rest and get some air. Add calcium blocks as supplement and a turtle dome which cleans the water and removes odours. Add a turtle conditioner and chlorine neutralizer to any new water you put in the tank. The pH level for a turtle must be above 7.0 if it is any lower we recommend using Tropical Balance to bring up the pH level.
Â
We have all these products in our store. We also sell tank set ups for your turtle that come with all the basics.
