LED Aquarium Lighting
lluminate Your Aquarium In The Best Light
LED lighting is one of the keystones to a breathtaking aquarium. The wavelengths of light used, the intensity and penetration power all play an essential role in getting a uniform and bright look.
It improves on the old luminescent lights or fluorescent aquarium lighting that require both reflectors and tube lights and is stronger, uses less power and will last much longer.
The sleeker, thinner profile is less bulky than a tube reflector and much more subtle on your setup which will improve the overall appearance of your aquarium.

Choosing The Correct LED Aquarium Lighting
At Waterlife Aquarium we have a range of different LED lighting options to choose from; Coldwater, Tropical, Marine or lighting especially made for plants. The Aqua One StripGlo lighting offers especially bright lights with multiple intensity options. With sizing of 45cm, 60cm, 90cm and 120cm, these lights come with adjustable bracing to fit your aquarium perfectly.
Built In Lighting
Our Prestige Range of tanks now all come with top of the range variable lighting, 10 different settings to cycle through, with Red, Blue, Green and of course, White Lighting, the perfect colour is at your fingertips.
Too powerful of lighting? No problem, the prestige range allows you to choose intensity from 0-99, creating a mellow look, or reducing the light to not burn your new plants.
Choose Your Mood with LED Aquarium Lighting
Different tanks benefit from different wavelength combinations.
- Tropical fish, with bright colours work well with lots of reds and pinks, enhancing their already vibrant colours.
- Blue light is perfect for creating a glow in the dark display, of which can easily be created with ornaments available in our stores.
- Clear whites allow a vibrant display of your impressive fish.
- Plants will thrive in a specific combination of lots of red, green and a little bit of blue.

How to avoid the 7 BIGGEST Aquarium Mistakes
Why Special LED Aquarium Lighting?
LED Aquarium Lighting differs from that of the standard LED you would find in hardware and lighting stores as the penetration power and lens angle is important when shining light through water.
Typical LED lenses have an angle of 120 degrees, whereas aquarium lighting offers a much more focused 60 degrees which prevents ‘spotlighting’ and enables an even spread through any aquarium depth. When choosing the LED light for your aquarium seek professional advice to ensure consistent lighting through your tank to make the most of your viewing experience.
