Face masks in store
We ask customers to continue wearing face masks in store and distance where possible, in line with government guidelines. Please also continue to limit the number of people in your group so we can have as many customers in store as possible
Face masks required for entry to store
Keeping in line with the new government restrictions put in place, we will require customers to wear face masks in order to enter the store. This is for the health & safety of staff and customers as well as keeping us compliant with government instructions which allows us to stay open. Thanks to everyone for their continued support and cooperation with the measures we put in place to stay open.
We still encourage contactless payment where possible, and appreciate everyone’s understanding with our customer limits in-store. If you can’t make it to our store or rather stay at home, please make the most of our Online Store Petco Direct, which offers the range available in store and more, as well as offering Free Melbourne Metro delivery on purchases over $49.
Am I allowed to visit the store with the current restrictions?
We have had lots of people calling and emailing asking if they can visit the store given the Stage 3 Restrictions applying to Melbourne Metro at the moment. The answer is yes, you can still come to the store.
You are allowed to travel to get necessary items for your pets such as food, treatments, medications, supplements, etc. You are also allowed to travel to pick up birds you have purchased (Click here to visit the relevant page on the Department of Health and Human Services website).
As long as you are following our current Covid practices like social distancing, sanitising hands upon entry to the store, and waiting outside if we have reached our capacity of customers in the store at one time, there is no problem with visiting the store.
We do have options available to pre-purchase birds so you have a receipt ready for extra peace of mind when you travel. These include Paypal payments and bank transfers. If this interests you please email the store to organise.
Our in-store area is Open again
We are very happy to say we have the in-store area open again (with restrictions). Thanks to everyone who has been following our safety procedures up to this point.
We still have our “express lane” out the front of the store for customers who know exactly what they want – this saves unneccessary entry into the store. However we have opened the store with no more than 2 people per group and a maximum of 3 groups in store at one time. Please keep in mind these measures are interest in the safety of not only our staff but our customers as well.
In the interest of keeping your shopping experience as hassle-free and contactless as possible, please continue to order via email or over the phone when convenient, and consider using our online store Petco Direct to get what you need delivered to your door.
Thanks again to everyone who has followed our safety measures so far, and we will keep you updated when changes are made.
We are still Open
We have put some measures in place in the interest of the health of our staff and customers alike. We have put up a service area out the front of our store, and our staff members will speak to you outside and will bring whatever you need out the front for you.
We have an under cover waiting area where you can sit down while we prepare your order, and you can help yourself to our free lollies and drinks.
Please read our previous policy below from 20/03/2020 regarding different ways you can place orders, such as over the phone, emailing, or using our online store.
We thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to continuing to provide you with the best service possible in these uncertain times.
